EDUCATION & TRAINING

Lee Bloom, MD is a licensed, fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon with Middlesex Orthopedic Surgeons. He specializes in advanced arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery. He cares for patients that require ligament reconstruction, and cartilage restoration procedures as well as broken bones, tendon repair, and joint replacements.

 

Dr. Bloom takes a personalized approach with each patient, tailoring their treatment with the goal of conservative, nonoperative management. He is devoted to providing his patients with innovative and compassionate care and if surgery is required, he employs the latest techniques and technology to get patients back to their active lifestyles.

 

Dr. Bloom grew up in West Hartford, CT and attended Loomis Chaffee High School. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University where he played on the Men’s Golf team. He received his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency training at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY where he served as chief resident.

 

He completed his orthopedic sports medicine fellowship with the Nicholas Institute of Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City where he received additional subspecialty training in advanced arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery. During his fellowship, Dr. Bloom participated in the care of professional athletes on the New York Jets football team.

 

Dr. Bloom likes to work with his patients to determine which treatments are best for their lifestyle, goals and recovery. He takes pride in his compassionate bedside manner and remains attentive to his patients throughout their rehab process. 

 

Having trained at multiple trauma centers in New York City, Dr. Bloom has experience with fracture care and traumatic injuries. This training combined with his clinical expertise in arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery gives him the versatility to treat a wide range of orthopedic conditions.

 

Outside of work Dr. Bloom enjoys staying active, playing golf, hockey, kayaking, and swimming. Most of all he loves spending time with his family, including his wife and two young children.
